Photo FaceFinder for iPhone / iPad and Mac processes your photos and facial data entirely on your own device — nothing is uploaded to us or anyone else.
Overview
Photo FaceFinder is an on-device photo organization app developed and owned by TGSane Technologies. The app uses on-device AI-powered face recognition to help you group, search, and organize photos of the people in your library — automatically detecting duplicate photos, building smart albums, and letting you search by face. All processing (face detection, face matching, and duplicate detection) happens locally on your device; we do not operate any server that receives, stores, or processes your photos or facial data. This policy explains exactly what data the app works with, how it's used, and the controls you have over it.
iPhone / iPad Mobile App and Mac Desktop App
Photo FaceFinder is available as an app for iPhone and iPad, and as a separate app for Mac. Both apps work the same way from a privacy standpoint: all face detection, face matching, and duplicate-photo detection run locally using on-device machine-learning models, and neither app has a server component. Everything in this policy applies equally to both apps unless a section says otherwise.

Intellectual Property
PhotoFaceFinder, its source code, trademarks, logos, graphics, and documentation are owned exclusively by TGSane Technologies. No part of the Software may be copied, modified, reverse engineered, or redistributed except as permitted by applicable law.
Data We Collect
Photo FaceFinder does not have user accounts and does not collect your email address, name, or any sign-in credentials. The app works entirely with data that stays on your own device:
Photos in your library Accessed on-device
With your permission, the app reads photos from your device's Photos library to detect and group faces. Photos are never uploaded, copied to a server, or sent anywhere — the app simply reads them locally to do its work, the same way any Photos-library app does.
Facial recognition data Generated on-device
The app generates mathematical face embeddings (not photographs) locally on your device, using Apple's Vision framework and a bundled on-device machine-learning model. These embeddings are used only to group and search faces within your own library, are stored only in a local file on your device, and are never transmitted anywhere.
App settings & subscription status Stored on-device
Preferences (like face-detection sensitivity) and your subscription status are stored locally on your device using standard iOS/macOS storage (e.g. UserDefaults). Subscription purchases are handled entirely by Apple's App Store / StoreKit — we do not receive or store your payment details.
What We Don't Collect
We do not collect account information, usage analytics, device identifiers, or crash/telemetry data. The app contains no analytics or advertising SDKs of any kind.
How We Process Your Photos
When you scan your library, Photo FaceFinder runs on-device face-detection and face-embedding models (Apple's Vision framework plus a bundled Core ML model) to identify faces, group them by person, and detect near-duplicate photos. This all happens locally on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Face embeddings are stored in a local file on your device so future scans can match new photos to people already found in your library — this data never leaves your device and is never combined with any other user's data, because we never see it in the first place.
What We Never Do
These commitments apply on every plan, on every device:
We never upload your photos or face data
Everything stays on your device. We do not operate a server that receives your photos or facial data, so there is nothing for us to sell, share, or lose in a breach.
We never use photos for ad targeting
Photo FaceFinder contains no advertising or analytics SDKs and does not use your photos or facial data to build ad profiles.
We never share facial data with third parties
Face recognition is scoped entirely to your own library, runs entirely on your device, and is never sent to us, to any third-party AI service, or to any other user.
Subscriptions & Payments
The Pro subscription is billed entirely through Apple's App Store (StoreKit) — we don't run our own payment system.
Data Storage & Security
Face embeddings and scan data are stored only in a local file in the app's private storage area on your device, protected by your device's own security (passcode, Face ID/Touch ID, and iOS/macOS's built-in encryption of local storage). We have no servers, so there is no cloud copy of your data for us — or anyone else — to access, secure, or lose.
Data Retention
Since there is no account and no server, retention is entirely in your hands. Face data for a photo is removed automatically if you delete that photo from your device's Photos library. You can clear all face and scan data at any time from the app's Settings (Reset). Deleting the app also deletes all of its local data immediately, since nothing is stored anywhere else.
Children's Privacy
Photo FaceFinder is not directed at children under 13. Since the app collects no account information and processes data only locally on-device, we have no ability to identify or collect information from any user, including children. Parents or guardians with questions can contact us at any time.
Your Rights and Controls
Because everything lives on your device, you're always in direct control:

See what's found
Browse every person and photo group the app has detected, right in the app — there's nothing hidden on a server.

Remove a photo
Deleting a photo from your device's Photos library removes it — and its face data — from the app automatically.

Reset all app data
Use "Reset All Data" in Settings to immediately delete every face, person, and duplicate record the app has stored, and start fresh.

Delete the app
Deleting Photo FaceFinder from your device deletes all of its local data along with it, since nothing is stored anywhere else.

Control Photos access
You can limit or revoke the app's access to your Photos library at any time in your device's Settings.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are reflected by revising the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Photo FaceFinder after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. The current version is always available at photofacefinder.com/privacypolicy.
